Wildflowers

The wildflowers observed
the sun and the moon,
the toads and the cobras
and all of the other beings who passed by

Drawing water from the earth below,
they quietly drank their fill,

and now and then they danced
with a gentle wind
or received a visit from a bee
or a butterfly

♫ ♫ ♫

And through all kinds of weather
and perils of various kinds,
the wildflowers remained equanimous
and outside of time
