Into the kula
Scott released another song
into the kula,
and as it made its way
from living room to living room,
folks began to imagine
a different way of living
♫ ♫ ♫
Upon seeing that his fridge
was bereft of beer,
Scott headed down
to the local bar
Hey, Scott
That new song of yours is pretty good
Thanks, brother
A folk song about fringe folk
It’s inspired the whole neighborhood
to be just who they really are
Right on
What’ll you have?
A pint of dark
Excellent choice
I’ll have one too
And so Scott and the barkeep
drank and talked
for a while
♫ ♫ ♫
Evenin’, Scott
Hey, man
You gonna sing tonight?
I just came by for a beer
Beer is comprised of non-beer elements
And a song is composed of non-song elements
That it is
Sounds like you’ve been listening to Thich Nhat Hanh
Yeah
He was in town last week
and I went to one of his talks
My glass is empty of beer
Mine too
Frank, could we get a couple more pints?
Coming right up
Thich Nhat Hanh is alright
Yeah, he’s pretty cool
Everything is interconnected
And impermanent
This beer and I interare
And we are drinking mindfully
Perhaps it’s time for a song
Mind if I play the house guitar, Frank?
She’s been waiting all night for you to ask
So Scott got the guitar and tuned it,
and then began to play
Coffee in the Morning, Beer at Night
